La Scolca Masterclass in the Seychelles: The Elegance of Gavi at Six Senses Zil Pasyon’s Spectacular Residence 61
As the sun began to set and the light of the Indian Ocean streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows, Residence 61 at Six Senses Zil Pasyon welcomed an exclusive La Scolca Masterclass hosted by Chiara Soldati.
Limited to only ten guests, the experience was designed as an intimate gathering around a communal table, featuring four La Scolca wines paired with four bite-sized dishes created to highlight their freshness, elegance and gastronomic versatility.
A Private Residence Suspended Above the Indian Ocean
Located on the private island of Félicité, Six Senses Zil Pasyon is surrounded by dramatic granite rocks, tropical vegetation and crystal-clear waters. The resort occupies less than one third of the island and is the only hotel on Félicité, preserving its secluded and unspoilt character.
The Masterclass took place in Residence 61, one of the resort’s extraordinary private residences. Its contemporary interiors, infinity pool and uninterrupted ocean views offered a setting of complete privacy, where architecture, nature and hospitality came together effortlessly.
The residences at Six Senses Zil Pasyon follow a concept of “stealth architecture”, blending sophisticated design into the island’s lush jungle and dramatic granite landscape while offering elevated views across the Indian Ocean and dedicated service.
Four Wines, Four Stories of Gavi
The tasting guided guests through four expressions of La Scolca’s distinctive style, personally presented by Chiara Soldati.
Each glass became an invitation to discover the Gavi territory, the Cortese grape, the family heritage of the winery and a vision that has combined tradition with innovation since 1919.
The accompanying small plates complemented the character of the wines through delicate flavours and ingredients inspired by the Indian Ocean. More than a technical tasting, the Masterclass became a conversation about wine, hospitality and the ability of shared experiences to create meaningful connections.
A Contemporary Expression of Wine Luxury
Inside a private residence overlooking the sea, as the sun slowly disappeared beyond the horizon, the tasting expressed a modern idea of luxury: a small number of guests, dedicated time, shared knowledge and meticulous attention to detail.
This philosophy naturally connects Six Senses and La Scolca through respect for place, an uncompromising pursuit of quality and the desire to transform an experience into a personal memory.
Six Senses Zil Pasyon integrates wellness and sustainability into its approach, celebrating the island’s natural environment and designing its villas and residences in harmony with the surrounding landscape.
From Piedmont to Félicité Island
The La Scolca Masterclass at Six Senses Zil Pasyon brought together Italian wine culture, international hospitality and the extraordinary natural beauty of the Seychelles.
A special thank you to the team at Six Senses Zil Pasyon for transforming Residence 61 into an impeccable setting for the tasting, and to our importer East Indies for its outstanding work, professionalism and continued commitment to developing and promoting La Scolca in the Seychelles.
From the hills of Gavi to a residence suspended above the Indian Ocean, every glass tells a story of place, passion and craftsmanship.
