Skopje, An Italian Night: La Scolca, Music and the Spirit of Made in Italy
An Italian evening in the heart of Skopje, where wine, gastronomy, music and conviviality came together to celebrate one of the most authentic expressions ofMade in Italy.
Hosted at Salvatore Italian Restaurant, our special La Scolca Night was filled with the vibrant energy of Italian Gypsy music, bringing to Skopje that unmistakable Mediterranean combination of spontaneity, elegance and joy that is so deeply connected with the Italian lifestyle.
In the glass, La Scolca wines and Gavi dei Gavi®, expressing the character of our Piedmont vineyards and a family winemaking history that began in 1919. From Gavi to North Macedonia, it was another reminder that wine can become an ambassador not only for a territory, but for an entire way of life — one shaped by quality, beauty, culture and the pleasure of sharing.
I was also particularly honoured to meet the Italian Ambassador in Skopje during my visit.
It was an important opportunity to express my personal gratitude for the valuable work carried out every day in representing and promoting Italy, its companies, its culture and the many forms of excellence that make Made in Italy recognised and appreciated throughout the world.
Behind every Italian bottle served on an international table lies a wider network of people, relationships and institutions helping to build awareness, trust and opportunities for our country. Meeting those who work abroad every day to strengthen Italy’s presence therefore has a very special significance for me.
Our evening in Skopje beautifully captured this idea: Gavi, Italian cuisine, live music and hospitality — different languages of the same Italian culture, united by their ability to create emotion and connection.
From Gavi to Skopje, La Scolca continues its journey around the world, carrying with it not simply a wine, but an Italian story worth sharing.
La Scolca — from our vineyards to the world.
