A Place Connected to the Story of James Bond
The tasting took place at a hotel that holds a fascinating place in James Bond history. In 1958, Ian Fleming, the author and creator of Agent 007, stayed at the historic Northolme Hotel while visiting Mahé. Inspired by the Seychelles’ dramatic coastline, tropical waters and marine life, he later incorporated the spirit of the islands into stories from his collection For Your Eyes Only. One of them, The Hildebrand Rarity, is set entirely in the Seychelles.
Today, the Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa preserves the secluded elegance that once captivated Fleming, with private villas overlooking the Indian Ocean, tropical gardens and sweeping views across Beau Vallon Bay towards Silhouette Island.
In this almost cinematic setting, the tasting of Gavi dei Gavi® Black Label and Cortegaia created a natural meeting between two international classics. Just as Hilton represents a worldwide standard of hospitality, elegance and service, La Scolca has embodied Italian winemaking excellence since 1919, crossing generations, cultures and destinations.
A special thank you to our importer East Indies for its outstanding work, professionalism and dedication to developing and promoting La Scolca in the Seychelles.
